About Mary Carr
Senior Vice Provost and Dean of Jack Welch Management Institute
As Dean of the Jack Welch Management Institute, Mary is driven by a single, laser-focused mission: to deliver the school as the gold standard for business education, ensuring that all its programs and faculty provide a world-class student learning and service experience. She leads the Faculty, Curriculum, and Advising teams and is responsible for overseeing all academic and student matters.
Prior to her role as Dean at JWMI, Mary served as Dean of the College of Business, Dean of Corporate Education, Senior Vice Provost of Faculty Affairs and Onsite Programs at Strayer University. In these roles, she provided both operational and academic leadership across Strayer’s undergraduate and graduate programs. Previously, Mary was a practicing attorney in Boston, focusing on civil litigation, and has more than a decade of corporate legal experience in the healthcare industry. At Medical Staffing Network, a national leader in healthcare staffing services, Mary served as General Counsel and was a member of the senior executive team for ten years.
Mary holds a Juris Doctorate with a certificate in Health Law Studies from the St. Louis University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston College
