Richard Chua

Dr. Richard Chua is a professor and program leader for the MBA Operations Management Concentration at JWMI. A champion for quality, Dr. Chua also helps companies improve their products and processes through his work as a trainer and consultant. His successes have been featured as cover stories in the American Society for Quality​’s Six Sigma Forum and Quality Progress magazines.

As a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Dr. Chua has trained and certified over 10,000 Champions, Green Belts and Black Belts – and over 100 Master Black Belts in Fortune 500 companies and multinational corporations. Before joining JWMI, Dr. Chua served as executive vice president and Six Sigma practice leader at the Juran Institute, where he co-authored Juran’s Quality Planning and Analysis, fifth edition. Prior to that, he led change management services at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He holds a PhD in Business Administration specializing in operations management from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and a bachelor’s in industrial engineering with distinction from Purdue University.
