JWMI John F. Welch Scholarship
New or returning readmit JWMI MBA and Graduate Certificate students could earn a total of $3,850 across their first, second and third quarters or second, third and fourth quarters. Students will receive $1,850 for their first or second quarter, then $1,000 per quarter for the next two consecutive quarters.
To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet one the following requirements:
- You have a bachelor’s degree with a 3.25 cumulative GPA on undergraduate coursework (unofficial transcript required).
- You have two previously completed graduate courses with a cumulative GPA of 3.25.
- You hold a previously completed master’s degree or higher (unofficial transcript required).
- You hold a previously completed undergraduate or graduate degree from Strayer University or are attending Strayer University or Capella University as an undergraduate.
- You have seven years of managerial experience.
- You are a U.S. military veteran (DD214 required).
- Note that returning students can receive the JWMI John F. Welch Scholarship more than once.
JWMI Merit-Based Dean’s Scholarship
JWMI students can get up to $16,200 off their MBA tuition in up to 12 disbursements of $1,350 per course.
To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet one of the following eligibility requirements:
- You have a bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher on undergraduate coursework.
- You scored 530 or above on the GMAT or 310 or above on the GRE within the last five years.
25% Civic and Community Scholarship
New or returning readmit students who work for a non-profit organization could get 25% off their MBA tuition.
To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet select eligibility requirements and submit one of the following documents that clearly indicates your professional role:
- Employer tuition assistance documentation
- Current paystub from your employer
- Email sent directly from your supervisor’s account, with an email address that includes their organization’s name
- Letter on company letterhead, written and signed by your supervisor
JWMI Strayer University Alumni Scholarship
Strayer University graduates enrolling at JWMI could receive a total of $4,000 toward their MBA tuition. The scholarship will be distributed across their second, third, fourth and fifth terms. To qualify for this scholarship you must meet select eligibility requirements.
Strayer University Military Scholarship
When combined with your military tuition assistance, the Strayer University Military Scholarship* can cover up to 100% of your undergraduate tuition and a majority of your graduate tuition.
Active-duty U.S. service members, National Guard members, Military Reservists and their spouses all qualify. Note that spouses are eligible even if the service member isn’t a student at Strayer University.
Army personnel will receive $2,470.03 per course, while those in other military branches will receive $2462.53 per course. Just make sure to provide a current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) to activate the scholarship, and it will stay on your account forever.
*Service members need to verify their TA eligibility as determined by their branch of service. This is a “gap” scholarship and may not be refunded to the students. Students using Ch 33 and CH 31 veteran benefits are not eligible. This scholarship will be applied to uncovered tuition and fees, if any, after first applying for benefits for military tuition assistance and/or corporate tuition programs.
Strayer University 50% off International Student Scholarship
- You are a new, continuing or readmit student registering for 2026 academic year in a Strayer University degree program, including the Jack Welch Management Institute Master of Business Administration program.
- Certificate programs, Devmountain programs, Media Design School at Strayer (MDS) programs, Degrees@Work programs, and VerizonOnsite are ineligible for this scholarship.
- You meet one of the following criteria:
- You are an eligible international, non-U.S. student citizen of one of the following countries or their territories: India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bhutan, Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macau Special Administrative Region), East Timor, Fiji, Indonesia, Japan, Kiribati, Laos, Malaysia, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Mongolia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Vietnam who are enrolled in a Strayer program pursuant to the following eligibility requirements fully-online from their home countries, or who are planning to study in the United States pursuant to a valid student visa; or
- You are transferring your Form I-20 to Strayer from an English as a Second Language program within the United States and can provide both:
- an unofficial transcript from the transferring institution; and
- an active, official e-mail address from the transferring institution; or
- You are living in the United States or its territories and hold a current and valid learner’s visa, including but not limited to a(n): H1B, F1, J1, TN, TD, or other visa.
- You understand that student visa programs are not administered or managed in any way by Strayer University, the University’s parent company, or any other subsidiary of the parent company (Strategic Education, Inc.)
- You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to read and understand the terms and conditions of your visa program.
- You understand the time to complete a JWMI MBA program varies from student to student because of unique factors impacting their academic journey such as their academic performance, program specialization, course load, transfer credit, school/work/life balance, and unique personal factors.
- You are not a U.S. citizen.
- If you become a U.S. Citizen as defined by the United States law and regulations while enrolled in a JWMI MBA program at Strayer, you will forfeit the scholarship.
- You are required to notify Strayer University and the Jack Welch Management Institute if your citizenship status changes.
- You meet all international admission requirements as outlined in the Strayer catalog and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations as part of your resident status in the United States. You also agree to review and consult, if necessary, the U.S. State Department’s current rules and regulations at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/study/student-visa.html.
- You are not a citizen of a country that is on the U.S. Department of Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control sanction list. (Information about this list can be found here: https://home.treasury.gov/policy-issues/office-of-foreign-assets-control-sanctions-programs-and-information.).
- The scholarship posting will be reported as “Other Aid” for financial aid purposes to be included in your cost of attendance calculation.
