Scholarships

JWMI International 50% Scholarship

Non-U.S. citizens living outside the U.S. could get 50% off their MBA tuition.

To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • You are a new student registering for the 2025 academic year in a Jack Welch Management Institute Master of Business Administration program. 
    • Certificate programs are ineligible for this scholarship.
  • You are not a U.S. citizen. 
    • If you become a U.S. citizen as defined by the United States law and regulations while enrolled in a JWMI MBA program at Strayer, you will forfeit the scholarship.
    • You are required to notify Strayer University and the Jack Welch Management Institute if your citizenship status changes.
  • You meet all international admission requirements as outlined in the Strayer catalog and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations as part of your resident status in the United States. You also agree to review and consult, if necessary, the U.S. State Department’s current rules and regulations at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/usvisas/study/student-visa.html.
  • You are not a citizen of a country that is on the U.S. Department of Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control sanction list. Information about this list can be found here: https://home.treasury.gov/policy-issues/office-of-foreign-assets-control-sanctions-programs-and-information.
  • The scholarship posting will be reported as “Other Aid” for financial aid purposes to be included in your cost of attendance calculation.

Acknowledgements

  • You understand and agree that you are required to notify Strayer University if your citizenship status changes.
  • You understand and agree that once eligibility for the scholarship is confirmed, the scholarship will be applied to your account in an amount equal to 50% of your tuition costs for the quarter during each eligible quarter of enrollment.
  • You understand and agree that this scholarship applies to tuition only. All other fees, including technology fee, final academic requirement fee, books, course materials and non-obligatory fees must be paid by a separate method of payment.
  • You understand and agree that this scholarship cannot be combined with other scholarships or grants offered by Strayer or Tuition Assistance Aligned Pricing (TAAP) discounts, also known as employer discounts.
  • You understand and agree that the scholarship may not be combined with corporate alliance/national account discounts.
  • You understand and agree that Strayer does not represent or guarantee that its degree programs are accredited, recognized or likely to be accredited, recognized or granted equivalency or validation by any non-U.S. country, non-U.S. educational authority or any other educational institution. Recognition, equivalency and validation of Strayer degrees are determined on a country-by-country basis by each country’s educational authorities, and by each individual institution at which you seek equivalency. Strayer international students are advised to independently review the degree recognition, equivalency and validation procedures with the relevant organizations in their country and any other institution the student may consider attending to determine if Strayer credits/degrees would be recognized.
  • You represent that neither you, an immediate family member or household member of yours are currently employed by the University, the University’s parent company or any other subsidiary of the parent company (Strategic Education, Inc.).
  • You understand and agree that you are subject to all academic policies and procedures applicable to Strayer University students, as provided for in the catalog.
  • You agree to maintain good academic standing (GPA 2.5 or greater for graduate programs) during the entire time that you are receiving the scholarship. Any quarter following the quarter when you fail to maintain good academic standing, the scholarship will be forfeited until you return to good academic standing.
    • You understand that if you choose to change to an ineligible program, discontinue or withdraw (either voluntarily or involuntarily), you will become ineligible for this scholarship and have all future scholarship disbursements canceled.
    • You understand and agree that if you do not register for or drop all courses during a quarter where the scholarship is disbursed, you forfeit the scholarship for that quarter and will be responsible for all tuition amounts not otherwise covered by financial aid. If you register, but do not remain enrolled through the first two weeks of the quarter or billing session you will forfeit the award for the missed quarter or billing session. The missed quarter will count as an unenrolled quarter for purposes for continued scholarship eligibility. 
    • You understand that if you take three or more unenrolled, consecutive quarters off, you will forfeit the scholarship benefits.
    • The scholarship may decrease the amount of funding you are eligible to obtain from other sources.
    • You understand and agree that you may not use the scholarship funds to pay for a repeat course, including repeats due to dropped courses that resulted in a final grade of WF (Withdraw Fail) or WP (Withdraw Pass).
    • You understand and agree that this scholarship has no cash value, and under no circumstance will you be eligible for a refund, cash payment or any other compensation for the value of unused scholarship funds and/or disbursements.
    • You understand and agree that if your tuition is billed to an employer or sponsor, the scholarship is applied first to tuition charges and then the sponsor is billed the remaining net tuition amount. 
    • You understand and agree that, if awarded this scholarship, you must read and agree to terms presented in the award agreement (which will be sent to you) before your scholarship funds will be applied to your student account.
    • You understand and agree that in all cases, the scholarship is offered at Strayer University’s discretion.

$5,000 JWMI International Completion Scholarship

Former JWMI international students who want to come back to finish their degree could get up to $5,000 off their MBA tuition in their second term. After student registration, the scholarship will be awarded in $1,000 increments for up to five courses total.

To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • You meet JWMI admission requirements, including holding an equivalent U.S. bachelor’s degree and having a resume, personal essay and color copy of your photo ID on file.
  • You remain in good financial standing with the university and up to date on payment plans during the life cycle of the scholarship.
  • You are in good academic standing with the university.
  • You earned credit for at least one course at JWMI.
  • You completed at least one course in each quarter and registered for consecutive quarters.

Note that the scholarship will reduce your tuition balance and is not refundable in cash.  

JWMI H-1B 50% Leaders Scholarship

International students living in the U.S. on an H-1B, H4 or any visa other than the F-1 visa could get 50% off their MBA tuition.

To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • You are a new student registering for the 2025 academic year in a Jack Welch Management Institute Master of Business Administration program. 
    • Certificate programs are ineligible for this scholarship.
  • You are not a U.S. citizen. 
    • If you become a U.S. citizen as defined by the United States law and regulations while enrolled in a JWMI MBA program at Strayer, you will forfeit the scholarship.
    • You are required to notify Strayer University and the Jack Welch Management Institute if your citizenship status changes.
  • You live in the United States or its territories and hold a current H-1B, H4 or different visa, excluding the F-1 visa.

    • You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to read and understand the terms and conditions of your visa program.

JWMI Trade NAFTA 50% Executive Scholarship

International students from Mexico or Canada who live in the U.S. on a TN, TD or any visa other than the F-1 visa could get 50% off their MBA tuition.  

 

To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • You are a new student registering for the 2025 academic year in a Jack Welch Management Institute Master of Business Administration program. 
    • Certificate programs are ineligible for this scholarship.
  • You are a citizen of Mexico or Canada.
  • You are not a U.S. citizen. 
    • If you become a U.S. citizen as defined by the United States law and regulations while enrolled in a JWMI MBA program at Strayer, you will forfeit the scholarship.
    • You are required to notify Strayer University and the Jack Welch Management Institute if your citizenship status changes.
  • You live in the United States or its territories and hold a current TN, TD or different visa, excluding the F-1 visa.

JWMI Coomeva Member Scholarship

New or continuing students who are also non-U.S. citizens could get 60% off their MBA tuition.

To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • You are a new or continuing student registering for the winter 2025 quarter in a JWMI degree program at Strayer University.
  • You remain a non-U.S. citizen for the duration of your college experience.

If you become a U.S. citizen while enrolled, you will forfeit your scholarship.

  • You are an active member of Coomeva, in good standing at the time of enrollment.

JWMI John F. Welch Scholarship

New or returning readmit JWMI MBA and Graduate Certificate students could earn a total of $3,850 across their first, second and third quarters or second, third and fourth quarters. Students will receive $1,850 for their first or second quarter, then $1,000 per quarter for the next two consecutive quarters.

To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet one the following requirements:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree with a 3.25 cumulative GPA on undergraduate coursework (unofficial transcript required).
  • You have two previously completed graduate courses with a cumulative GPA of 3.25.
  • You hold a previously completed master’s degree or higher (unofficial transcript required).
  • You hold a previously completed undergraduate or graduate degree from Strayer University or are attending Strayer University or Capella University as an undergraduate.
  • You have seven years of managerial experience.
  • You are a U.S. military veteran (DD214 required).

 

Note that returning students can receive the JWMI John F. Welch Scholarship more than once.

JWMI Merit-Based Dean’s Scholarship

JWMI students can get up to $16,200 off their MBA tuition in up to 12 disbursements of $1,350 per course.

To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet one of the following eligibility requirements:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher on undergraduate coursework.
  • You scored 530 or above on the GMAT or 310 or above on the GRE within the last five years.

JWMI Merit-Based Completion Scholarship

Students who have earned honors or a high pass (3.5 GPA* or above) in the first two courses of the JWMI Graduate Certificate program could earn $3,000 at the end of their third and final term.

*Note: the Director of Admissions may approve this scholarship by exception if he GPA in the first two courses is less than 3.5.

25% Civic and Community Scholarship

New or returning readmit students who work for a non-profit organization could get 25% off their MBA tuition.

To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet select eligibility requirements and submit one of the following documents that clearly indicates your professional role:

  • Employer tuition assistance documentation 
  • Current paystub from your employer 
  • Email sent directly from your supervisor’s account, with an email address that includes their organization’s name
  • Letter on company letterhead, written and signed by your supervisor

JWMI Strayer University Alumni Scholarship

Strayer University graduates enrolling at JWMI could receive a total of $4,000 toward their MBA tuition. The scholarship will be distributed across their second, third, fourth and fifth terms. To qualify for this scholarship you must meet select eligibility requirements.

Strayer University Military Scholarship

When combined with your military tuition assistance, the Strayer University Military Scholarship* can cover up to 100% of your undergraduate tuition and a majority of your graduate tuition.

Active-duty U.S. service members, National Guard members, Military Reservists and their spouses all qualify. Note that spouses are eligible even if the service member isn’t a student at Strayer University.

Army personnel will receive $2,470.03 per course, while those in other military branches will receive $2462.53 per course. Just make sure to provide a current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) to activate the scholarship, and it will stay on your account forever.


*Service members need to verify their TA eligibility as determined by their branch of service. This is a “gap” scholarship and may not be refunded to the students. Students using Ch 33 and CH 31 veteran benefits are not eligible. This scholarship will be applied to uncovered tuition and fees, if any, after first applying for benefits for military tuition assistance and/or corporate tuition programs.
